Herbert not dwelling on Adelaide incidents

The Wellington Phoenix football coach Ricki Herbert is not dwelling on incidents which marred the 3-1 A-League loss to Adelaide.

The game was tarnished by a claim of racism made by the Phoenix star striker Paul Ifill - the Barbadian international claims he was racially abused by spectators as he was subbed off about 15 minutes into the second half.

The coach Ricki Herbert made his thoughts known to Adelaide officials, but shied away from discussing the issue with the media.

Nor was he keen to dwell on a Phoenix goal which was wrongly disallowed for offside.

Herbert says the team did well to rally back in the second half when they were already 3-nil down, and says the young players that came on played well.

The Phoenix remain seventh in the league, while the Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide have put eight points on their rivals at the top of the table.
