The New Zealand swimmer Lauren Boyle may have failed to add to her medal haul on the final day of competition at the world short course champs in Turkey but it hasn't dented her excitement about her future.

Boyle finished eighth in the final of the 200 freestyle after breaking the New Zealand record in the heats.

The North Shore swimmer, won the 800 freestyle taking seven seconds off the national record and also won a bronze medal in the 400 freestyle.

She says the meeting has shown her she's capable of swimming faster than she thought.

The American swimmer Ryan Lochte was the stand out performer at the event winning eight medals in all, six of them gold to equal his haul at the short course world champs of 2010 in Dubai.
