The world footballer of the year Lionel Messi has signed an extended contract with Barcelona until the end of June 2018, which ties him to the club until he's 31.
Barcelona have also secured their 34-year-old captain Carlos Puyol until 2016 which will effectively see the Spanish international through to the end of his playing career.
And another pillar of the team, Xavi, has also signed up to stay until 2016.
