Former Wellington Cricket coach sacked from New South Wales

Wellington Cricket gave Anthony Stuart five years to win some silverware before letting him go, but New South Wales have given him just 18 months before terminating his contract.

The Australian fast bowler Anthony Stuart has been sacked as the state's head coach, having only taken on the role in May last year.

The New South Wales cricket board has decided that Stuart's contract won't be renewed and Stuart has stepped down with immediate effect.

The Blues have made a decent start to the Sheffield Shield season to sit in fourth place on the table, just six points behind the leaders - but they've won just one of their four one day Cup clashes to be equal-last.
