Many South Africans won't get to see NZ test series

New Zealand's test cricket series against South Africa won't be shown live on free to air television in the Republic.

South Africa's national broadcaster, the SABC, has decided it will only air Twenty20s and One Day Internationals live and show highlights packages from the tests against New Zealand in the New Year.

It has been revealed that the SABC is under financial constraints, which led it to consider not broadcasting any cricket this summer.

Almost seven times as many South Africans watch international cricket on free-to-air television rather than on pay TV.
