Pietersen won't play limited overs on NZ tour

England's cricket selectors have decided their prolific batsman Kevin Pietersen won't be involved in Twenty20 or one day internationals on their tour here early next year.

The former England captain will be playing in the five one day internationals on their India tour next month, but he'll play in the New Zealand test series only, as part of a policy to better manage players' workloads.

England's leading spinner Graeme Swann will miss the Twenty20 section of the New Zealand tour.

All-rounder Stuart Broad will return to lead the T20 side after missing the two-match series against India.

The tour starts with the first T20 match in Auckland on the 9th of February after two warm-up games in Whangarei.

Under new limited overs coach Ashley Giles, England will play three T20 internationals and three ODIs against the Black Caps.

England will also play three tests in New Zealand, starting with the opening match in Dunedin in early March.
