All Whites striker to join Leicester

The All Whites striker Chris Wood has agreed to join Championship club Leicester from Premier League football side West Bromwich Albion.

Wood has become sought-after in English football's second tier after a successful loan spell with Millwall, where he scored 11 goals in 19 appearances in the first half of this season.

The 21-year-old initially indicated he would be willing to join Millwall on a permanent basis and the Championship outfit made a club-record bid to sign him from Albion.

But Leicester matched Millwall's bid of around $2.5 million and Wood decided Leicester offered a better chance of promotion to the Premier League.

Wood's loan at Millwall was then cut short and he returned to Albion before agreeing personal terms with fifth-placed Leicester, who will officially complete the move once the January transfer window opens.
