Sri Lankan bowler Eranga injured at SCG

Sri Lanka have suffered another setback on their Australian tour with promising fast bowler Shaminda Eranga suffering a freak leg injury during training on the eve of the third cricket Test in Sydney.

Eranga was playing in a warm-up game of football with his teammates today when he fell awkwardly.

The right-arm quick, who has taken five wickets at an average of 50 in the opening two Tests, limped his way to the dressing rooms.

It is unknown whether he will miss the final Test of the series starting at the SCG tomorrow but captain Mahela Jayawardene admitted he could still not finalise a team.

The wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene appears certain to miss the match while paceman Nuwan Kulasekara is also in extreme doubt.

Jayawardene admitted the disruptions had taken an enormous toll on his team already this summer, but urged them to rise above it.
