New Zealand cyclist Josh Atkins is 17 seconds off the lead and in third place on general classification heading in to the second stage of the Jayco Herald Sun cycle Tour in Victoria.
The 20 year old Grays Online National team rider from Christchurch was outsprinted for stage honours in Bendigo after yesterday's 147 kilometre opening stage.
New South Wales rider Aaron Donnelly has a 14 second overall lead.
Todays 146km journey will take the field from Mitchelton Winery to Healesville.
The race ends tomorrow at Arthur's Seat.
