Defending champion Murray overcame Istomin in just over an hour and a half.

Murray will take on Japan's fifth seed Kei Nishikori in today's semi-finals.

Bulgarian world number 48 Grigor Dimitrov will line up in the semis against Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis after the former Australian Open finalist upset third-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3 6-4.
