The former Blues coach Pat Lam will coach the Irish side Connacht next northern season.
Lam has accepted a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further period and he replaces Eric Elwood.
Lam coached Auckland from 2005 to 2009 and then coached the Blues up until last season.
