Black Caps outclassed

The New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullum admits they were outclassed in the test series against South Africa.

Man of the match Dale Steyn took 3 for 48 and Morne Morkel 2 for 36 as New Zealand were bowled out for 211 in their second innings, giving the homeside victory in the second test in Port Elizabeth by an innings and 197 runs.

Steyn finished with match figures of 8 for 65.

New Zealand were bowled out half an hour before lunch on the 4th day with BJ Watling making 63 and Dean Brownlie 53, but the Black Caps lost their last 5 wickets for just 8 runs.

McCullum says it's extremely disappointing, but there has to be an acknowledgement of the difference in class between the two teams.

He says they weren't good enough but they were put under tremendous pressure by a team at the very top of their game.

South Africa won the first Test in Cape Town by an innings and 27 runs.

The win consolidated South Africa's position at the top of the world rankings.
