Warne in trouble again, Perth to meet Brisbane in Big Bash final

The controversial cricketer Shane Warne is in trouble again, the Melbourne Stars captain is facing another one-match ban - this time for a slow over rate in Australia's domestic Twenty20 Big Bash league.

Warne was suspended for one game last week after his heated confrontation with West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels.

Now the spin legend has been pulled up for an alleged breach of Cricket Australia's spirit of the game law in regards to a slow over rate.

Warne wasn't officially listed as captain for his team's semi-final loss to the Perth Scorchers.

James Faulkner was given the captaincy duties for the match, but Cricket Australia says it should be Warne who takes the blame for the slow over rate.

The organisation says if a team's official captain is selected but not named as captain, it's considered against the spirit of cricket.

However, it may not end up mattering for Warne, who may not play in the BBL again.

The Scorchers booked their place in Saturday's grand final against the Brisbane Heat with an eight-wicket victory against the Stars.

The Stars made 183 for two off 18 overs in the rain-affected contest, with the Scorchers chasing down the revised victory target of 139 off 13 overs in the final ball of their innings.

Warne didn't bowl during the match.
