The New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullum is adamant he had no knowledge of the plans to remove Ross Taylor before the coach Mike Hesson informed the former captain.

The Black Caps start their One Day International series in South Africa tonight, with McCullum keen to put the latest revelations about the captaincy debacle behind them.

In a letter to New Zealand Cricket, bowling coach Shane Bond stated he believed McCullum had to have known Taylor was going to be removed before Hesson approached the former captain.

However, McCullum says he knew nothing until he was approached to take over by New Zealand Cricket CEO David White.
