Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers to play in Superbowl

7:00 pm on 21 January 2013

For the first time in American football history - the two teams competing in this year's Superbowl will be coached by two brothers.

The Baltimore Ravens upset last year's finalists the New England Patriots 28-13 to win the AFC Championship.

They'll be joined in the final by the San Francisco 49ers, who had to come from behind to beat the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 earlier today.

In a first for the Super Bowl, both teams are coached by brothers, with Jim Harbaugh overseeing the 49ers and John Harbaugh in charge of the Ravens.

The Ravens will appear in just their second Super Bowl after winning the biggest prize in American professional sports at the end of the 2000 season, while the 49ers were last in the final in 1995.
