No sympathy for Armstrong on social media

Lance Armstrong's televised doping confession has done nothing to restore his shattered reputation, according to a cross section of responses posted to the Twitter social media site.

A sports market research company says Armstrong's interview with Oprah Winfrey last week generated nearly 2-million Twitter posts in a few days, and the sheer lack of sympathy for the 7-times Tour de France champion was particularly noticeable.

The Texan said during the interview he hoped a lifetime ban would one day be lifted, to allow him to compete in events like marathons and triathlons.
