Rain delay at Pattaya Open

Updated at 6:29 am on 31 January 2013

The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic has yet to play her second round singles match at the Pattaya Open in Thailand.

Erakovic was scheduled to play local wildcard entry Varatchaya Wongteanchai on Wednesday night, but rain appears to have washed out the entire third day programme.

They haven't yet completed the opening round of singles. Erakovic now plays at 6pm, New Zealand time.

Erakovic cruised to an early upset win in the first round, belying her world ranking of 75 as she knocked out the world number 25 and third seed Su-Wei Hsieh from Taiwan 6-2 6-2 in the opening round.

She'll team up with Britain's Heather Watson in the doubles, where they are the second seeds.

The top seed for the singles tournament is the Serbian former world number one Ana Ivanovic. Daniella Hantuchova of Slovakia is the back to back defending champion.
