NZ Cricket to receive ICC grant

New Zealand Cricket will receive a grant of just over 2 million dollars from the International Cricket Council to help develope the top end of the game here.

New Zealand Cricket will be a beneficiary of the ICC's Targeted Assistance and Performance Programme and will receive the money over 3 years.

New Zealand Cricket applied for the grant, which has previously gone to the likes of Scotland, West Indies and Zimbabwe and is geared towards developing more competitive teams among the ICC's Full and Associate Members.

New Zealand Cricket will use the money to focus on a programme of A team cricket and the development of coaching and sports science expertise.

New Zealand are currently number 8 in both the Test and ODI rankings.
