Australian cricketers thump Windies

The Australian cricketers have beaten the West Indies by nine wickets with 40 overs to spare in the opening one day international in Perth.

Mitchell Starc took five for 20 as the Windies were bowled out for 70 in the 24th over, while Glenn Maxwell made an unbeaten 51 as the home side reached their target in the 10th over.

The match, which was scheduled to finish at 7.05pm local time, was all over by 2.16pm.
