Proteas rip through another side

12:40 pm on 3 February 2013

The South African bowling attack has ripped through another side, dismissing Pakistan for just 49 in their first innings in the opening cricket test in Johannesburg.

Dale Steyn took six wickets for eight runs as Pakistan were dismissed for their lowest-ever test total.

South Africa finished the second day on 207 for three, a lead of 411.

It was the third time in two seasons that South Africa bowled out opponents for less than 50.

Australia were bowled out for 47 in 2011/12 and New Zealand were dismissed for 45 earlier this season.

Both of those matches were in Cape Town.
