FIFA launches corruption hotline

FIFA has launched a web page to enable individuals to make anonymous reports of corruption by officials and attempts at match-fixing.

FIFA had promised to set up the hotline before the announcement earlier this week by European police that about 680 suspicious matches, including qualifiers for the World Cup and European Championship and the Champions League, had been identified in a match-fixing inquiry.

Many football observers say the most recent revelations about a global match-fixing operation based in Singapore are old news.
