The West Indies dashed New Zealand's hopes on the final day of the Super Six round at the women's cricket World Cup in Mumbai, when they upset Australia with an eight-run win, and those two teams will meet again in the final.

Protecting an unbeaten record of five games, Australia dismissed the West Indies for 164, but were shot out for 156 with 10 balls to go.

It was the West Indies' first win against Australia, and they ended up top qualifiers in making their first World Cup final.

New Zealand's final Super Six match against England became academic, and the defending champions beat the White Ferns by 15 runs.

England made 266 for six and New Zealand collapsed from 214 for three to end up on 251 for nine.

White Ferns vice-captain Amy Satterthwaite returned to form with 103, her second international one day century.

New Zealand and England meet again in the playoff for third place.
