The former world tennis number one Rafael Nadal is back in the winner's circle for the first time since his return from seven months off with a knee injury.
As the top seed, Nadal has won the Brazil Open, beating Argentina's David Nalbandian 6-2 6-3 in the final in Sao Paulo.
A week ago, Nadal was beaten in both the singles and doubles finals in his comeback event in Chile.
Meanwhile the outgoing women's world number one Victoria Azarenka from Belarus has outclassed Serena Williams 7-6 2-6 6-3 to win the Qatar Open.
Azarenka is unbeaten in 12 matches this year, but Williams now replaces her as number one.
