SBW unlikely to play final pre-season match

New Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has confirmed star recruit Sonny Bill Williams is highly unlikely to play in Saturday night's final NRL pre-season match against Wests Tigers.

Williams was heavily involved in his first contact session with the Roosters yesterday, but Robinson's hesitation in rushing the former All Black back into action means he will not have a game under his belt heading into the much-hyped NRL season opener against South Sydney on March 7th.

Williams' return to the NRL after he walked out on the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2008 has been a main talking point of the off-season.

Robinson says he's not too concerned with the dual international going into the season proper without a run.
