Chinese authorities shocked by Howman claims

Chinese authorities will investigate a claim by a top anti-doping official that 99 percent of the raw materials for illicit drugs used in global sport are sourced online from China.

New Zealander David Howman, the Wada director, said 99 percent of raw materials "that are used through the internet to make up in your kitchen or your backyard laboratory are emanating from China".

China's anti-doping chief Jiang Zhixue says there are problems in China, such as illegal sale of banned drugs through the internet, so they've decided to launch an investigation into WADA's allegation.

Jiang did not refute Howman's claim, but says they're shocked by it and had asked WADA to provide evidence.
