England level one day series in Napier

5:59 am on 21 February 2013

The New Zealand-England one day cricket series will be decided in Auckland on Saturday after the tourists cruised to victory with 8 wickets to spare in game two last night in Napier.

The home captain Brendan McCullum thought they'd come up about 20 runs short of a competitive total after being dismissed for 269, and a well-executed run-chase brought England victory in the 48th over.

The England captain Allistair Cook set up the run chase with 78, and Joe Root and Jonathan Trott carried the tourists to victory with unbeaten innings of 79 and 65 respectively.

New Zealand's innings featured Ross Taylor's 100, his seventh one day international century, and a smashing 74 from 36 balls by captain Brendon McCullum.
