The Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith says he always expected to play in this weekend's Super Rugby clash with the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.
Smith left the field in their loss to the Blues last weekend after suffering a knock to the head and was ruled that he couldn't return after failing one of the concussion tests.
He's been cleared to play against the Reds and says from experience he knew things weren't too bad but appreciates the tests are pretty conservative now.
Smith says not a lot has changed for his side this week despite that first-up loss and has told his players to just be a bit more patient.
There is just one change to the starting side that lost to the Blues with prop Jeffery Toomaga-Allen starting after recovering from concussion.
