Club linked to Australian doping scandal commissions review

One of the Australian football clubs implicated in the Sports Anti-Doping Authority investigation has commissioned an independent review to get to the bottom of "irregular practices" which went on at the AFL club.

The Essendon club chairperson David Evans says the board had signed off on a full external review of the club's governance and processes in light of the Authority's investigation into possible illegal performance-enhancing drug use over their supplement programme last season.

Evans says the review will help the club give answers to members and fans and will also investigate practices in other clubs and other sports, to measure its actions and processes against best practice.
