Olympic silver medallist Nick Willis just missed out on his target in a 1500 metre race in Auckland on Thursday night.
In a select field, Willis was hoping to reach a world championship 'A' qualifying mark of three minutes 35 seconds, but finished just over one and a half seconds outside that time.
Willis was happy with his run and will attempt the time again in Sydney next week.
