Benitez gets little sympathy from former Chelsea players

Former Chelsea players have shown little sympathy for the London club's caretaker manager Rafael Benitez who criticised the club's board and fans after announcing he was leaving the club at the end of the season.

Former midfielder Craig Burley suggested that Benitez and the club should go their separate ways as soon as possible, and bookmakers William Hill are offering short odds that the Spaniard would be out of Stamford Bridge before Chelsea play West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

The bookmakers have also installed former boss Jose Mourinho as favourite to return to Stamford Bridge as the club's next permanent manager.
