The English Premier League football leaders Manchester United thrashed Norwich City 4-0 at Old Trafford to go 15 points above champions Manchester City, who play on Tuesday.

Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa became the first Asian player to score a Premier League hat-trick in the rout, while Wayne Rooney scored the final goal.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez also scored three times in the Reds' 4-0 hiding away at Wigan. The Reds move up to seventh.

Chelsea are third after beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in London.

Bottom side Queens Park Rangers had a rare away victory, winning 2-1 at fellow strugglers Southampton, but Rangers remain four points from safety.

Everton consolidated their hold on a European place with a 3-1 home win over Reading, while West Ham United won 1-0 at Stoke City.

Swansea City beat visitors Newcastle United 1-0 and Sunderland drew 2-2 at home to Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur can go back above Chelsea into third if they beat another London rival, Arsenal, in a blockbuster at White Hart Lane on Monday.
