Flower labels England effort sloppy

The England cricket coach Andy Flower has labelled England sloppy after their three wicket loss to a New Zealand Eleven in Queenstown over the weekend.

England and New Zealand begin the first test of a three match series in Dunedin on Wednesday.

Flower says it was a timely lesson ahead of the series and expects a much sharper performance in Dunedin.

The New Zealand side chased down 334 on the final day to win the match and Flower says while it wasn't ideal losing it was a good buildup match.

He says it was a poor first innings bowling effort from the tourists while there were also some soft dimissals by the batsmen.

England didn't play strike bowlers James Anderson and Steve Finn which Black Caps pace bowler Neil Wagner says will make them a different proposition.
