Australia crash to second test loss in India

11:35 am on 6 March 2013

Less than three and a half days was all it took for the Indian cricketers to demolish the touring Australians by an innings and 135 runs in the second test in Hyderabad.

The home side's win came at lunch on day four when Australia were bowled out in their second innings for 131, losing a test match by an innings for the first time since the 2010/11 Ashes series.

Opener Ed Cowan top-scored with 44 in a shocking collapse of 8-56 from Australia's batsmen which followed their eight-wicket loss in the first Test in Chennai.

It was the 22nd win in 45 matches for MS Dhoni, making him India's most successful test match captain.

India lead the four-match series 2-0. The third test in Mohali starts on March 14.
