How not really thinking about records

12:17 pm on 7 March 2013

The former New Zealand cricket opener Jamie How is downplaying his achievement of recording the second highest one day innings ever.

How hit 222 in Central Districts win over Northern Districts in their one-dayer in Hamilton.

The 31-year-old hit 27 fours and eight sixes and his total is second only to Surrey's Ali Brown who made 268 in 2002.

How hadn't really thought about the records, he was more concerned that Central held on to win the match by 19 runs.

It was a day for big scores with Auckland defending a score of 356 against Canterbury and Wellington scoring 309 off 41 overs as they beat Otago.
