Good opportunity for NZ softball after World Championship success

There was plenty to celebrate for New Zealand Softball as the men's team won the World Championship in Auckland yesterday with a 4-1 victory over Venezuela in the grand final.

The Black Sox skipper Rhys Casley, who has been battling injury, provided the defining moment when he hit a winning three-run homer to break a 1-all tie in the bottom of the third inning.

Casley says it was fantastic to win in what will be the last World Championship for many of the players.

Black Sox coach Eddie Kohlhase believes winning back the title, their 6th in total, will be a big boost for the sport in New Zealand and provides a huge opportunity that they need to grab.
