The New Zealand men's hockey team has suffered its second straight loss at the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament in Malaysia after going down 2-1 to the hosts.

The results follows a 4-3 loss to Pakistan in their opening match.

The Malaysians were ahead 2-nil well into the second half before Shay Neal deflected in a shot from a penalty corner.

Australia and Malaysia are 2 from 2 and top the 6 team tournament, while New Zealand are bottom and play Korea tomorrow.
