Cardiff set for the Premier League

Cardiff City look to be out of sight in the English Football League Championship following a 2-0 away win at Sheffield Wednesday that's taken the Welshmen seven points clear at the top.

Hull City stay in the other automatic promotion place in second, despite a 2-1 home loss to late promotion challengers Nottingham Forest, who climb up to fifth above Leicester City, 2-1 losers at Derby County, while Watford are still third even though the Hornets were defeated 1-0 at Barnsley.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had a crucial 2-1 home win over bottom side Bristol City but stay second-last thanks to Peterborough's 1-0 triumph away at Blackpool, while Ipswich Town's 1-0 home victory over Bolton Wanderers helps ease the Tractor Boys' relegation fears.
