Southern Kings in trouble for playing too many foreigners

10:00 am on 20 March 2013

The new Super Rugby franchise Southern Kings could have points deducted for using too many foreign players in last weeks loss to defending champions the Chiefs.

They fielded three foreign players in the 35-24 loss in Port Elizabeth, contrary to South African Rugby regulations that allow for two foreigners per match squad.

Southern Kings started with New Zealand centre Hadleigh Parkes and used the Argentine pair of halfback Nicolas Vergallo and flanker Tomas Leonardi as substitutes.
