Wellington's 106 run win over Northern Districts has elevated them into third place for the domestic one day cricket play-offs, joining Auckland, Northern Districts and Canterbury in the Preliminary Finals.
Daniel Vettori made his comeback from injury for Northern Districts, having not played since September.
Meanwhile Doug Bracewell got through 10 overs for Central Districts in their loss to Canterbury and is exepected to join the Black Caps today.
In the minor preliminary finals on Sunday, Auckland play Canterbury and Wellington play Northern Districts.
