Hamilton Boys High School and Napier Boys High School sealed their places in the final of the Maadi Cup race after winning their heats at the New Zealand Secondary Schhol Rowing regatta on Lake Karapiro.
The other finalists for boys under-18 eights will be found after today's repechages.
Hamilton Boys High School has won the Maadi Cup five times in the past ten years and look to be favourites for Saturday's final.
In the Girls Under-18 Levin Jubilee Cup eights, Craighead Diocesan of Timaru and St Margaret's College both won their heats.
