The All Black Dan Carter will miss the Crusaders' trip to South Africa due to the impending birth of his child.
Via his Twitter account, he says he is gutted not to be heading to the republic but is excited about becoming a dad.
The Crusaders hit the road after this Saturday's Super Rugby game against the Kings in Christchurch.
They'll play the Stormers and the Sharks in South Africa, and the Western Force in Perth on the way back.
