Blues beaten by Waratahs

11:00 am on 25 March 2013

The New South Wales Waratahs kicked a penalty after the hooter to beat the Blues 30-27 in their Super Rugby clash in Sydney.

The Blues had led 24-10 at the break, scoring three first half tries, before the homeside stormed back with Bernard Foley kicking the winning penalty.

Foley was the undoubted hero for the Tahs, not only landing the pressure penalty but also scoring a try and slotting three other second-half goals.

Blues coach John Kirwan hailed the Waratahs' resilience saying they scored the tries when they needed to and put them under enough pressure that they made errors.

The Blues stay third in the New Zealand Conference.
