South Sydney have made their best start to a National Rugby League season since 1971 with a fourth successive victory by beating the Canterbury Bulldogs 17-12 at home.
The game also marked Ben Barba's first game of 2013 after being stood down by the Bulldogs to clean up his off-field life.
Elsewhere the Melbourne Storm beat the Brisbane Broncos 32-26 at Suncorp Stadium, where the 22 year-old New Zealand-born player Jordan Kahu finally made his NRL debut for Brisbane after coming back from successive knee reconstructions.
