Breakers boss predicts epic NBL final

The New Zealand Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis is predicting another epic National Basketball League grand final series against Perth starting at the end of this week.

The Breakers sealed their place in the season finale when they swept aside the Sydney Kings 2-nil in their semi-final series, overturning a 10-point second quarter deficit on Monday to win game two 99-88 at the Sydney Entertainment centre.

The Breakers have home advantage for game one of the final series on Sunday - the second match is in Perth on the 12th of this month, and the series decider, if necessary, has been pencilled in for the 18th in Auckland.

The Breakers lost three of their four matches against Perth during the regular season, but the Wildcats announced Monday they'll be without their Australian Boomers guard Damian Martin for the entire playoff series with an achilles tendon injury.

Martin was named last week the NBL's defensive player of the year for a third straight season.
