Neil Warnock has quit as manager of former English football giants Leeds United following Tuesday morning's woeful 2-1 home loss to Derby County, Leeds' third straight defeat in the second-tier Championship.
Warnock leaves just over a year after he took up the post having badly failed to restore the club to the Premier League, from which they were relegated in 2004.
Warnock leaves Leeds 12th in the table and facing a relegation six-pointer on Sunday against fellow former top-flight side Charlton Athletic, who have two points fewer.
The All Whites striker Chris Wood's Leicester City lost again, 2-0 at Barnsley, but the Foxes stay just one place out of the playoffs zone for now.
Derby are up to eighth but five points behind Leicester.
New Zealand vice-captain Tommy Smith's Ipswich had a scoreless draw at Millwall and are three points clear of the relegation zone.
Elsewhere Cardiff thrashed visitors Blackburn 3-0 to move seven points clear at the top, fourth-placed Crystal Palace lost 1-0 at Blackpool and fifth-placed Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 at Burnley.
