The English Premier League football giants Liverpool have confirmed an off-season trip to Australia later this year when they'll play the A-League club Melbourne Victory on the 24th of July.

The club's first visit to Australia will form an important part of their pre-season preparations for the 2013/14 Premier League season, and they'll travel with a full strength squad including the likes of their Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, England star Steven Gerrard and Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones.

Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre says they know they have a large fan base in Australia and New Zealand and their visit underlines their commitment to bringing the club closer to their fans all over the globe.

The Melbourne match will be just four days after Manchester United play an A-League All Stars side at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
