Sub 2-seconds pitstops just round the corner

Formula one motor racing's champion Red Bull team is predicting a pitstop could take less than two seconds before the end of the current season.

Red Bull have belatedly claimed a record of 2.05 seconds for a pitstop during last month's controversial Malaysian Grand Prix, breaking McLaren's previous mark of 2.31 seconds on five separate occasions during that race.

Their pit stop achievements got little attention at the time, with the main focus on their drivers who ended the race barely talking to each other after Sebastian Vettel ignored team instructions and overtook Mark Webber to win.
