Blues to find new lock for 2014 season

11:30 am on 5 April 2013

The Blues will have to find a replacement lock for next season as Anthony Boric announced he is heading to Japan.

Boric, who has just battled back from a long-term neck injury, has signed a two-year contract with Mitsubishi Dynaboars starting in September. All Blacks Richard Kahui and Stephen Donald will also be playing in Japan next year.

Blue coach Sir John Kirwan says players moving to Japan is a part of the professional rugby landscape.

Kiwan says Boric is reaching his prime, but he fully understands Boric's decision to make the move to Japan.

Kirwan says the focus at the moment is securing a win against the Highlanders this weekend.
