Former Australian international to play for Black Caps

The former Australian player Luke Ronchi has been named in the New Zealand one day cricket squad for next month's tour of England and the Champions Trophy tournament, also in England.

Ronchi was born in Dannevirke but moved to Perth as a youngster.

He signed with Wellington last year in a bid to break into the Black Caps, having played four one dayers for Australia and three Twenty20 matches.

The former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori returns to the one day squad after eight months out of international cricket with an ankle injury while Mitchell McClenaghan also returns after an injury break.

New Zealand play England in three one dayers before taking part in the Champions Trophy which begins on June 6th.

The Wellington pace bowler Mark Gillespie and Auckland batsman Martin Guptill return to the test squad for the two tests in England in an otherwise unchanged lineup to the squad which drew the three-match series against England here last month.

Ross Taylor's Indian Premier League commitments mean he'll miss the Black Caps' England tour opener, a three-day warmup game at Derby, as will current captain Brendon McCullum.

Both will arrive the day before the second warmup match at Leicester against the English Lions.
