Thrilling win for Hurricanes over Waratahs

9:00 am on 7 April 2013

The Hurricanes scored their second straight bonus point victory and 4th win in a row as they beat the New South Wales Waratahs 41-29 in Wellington.

The Tahs scored three tries to the Hurricane's four, which included two tries to the All Black winger Julian Savea and two tries to front row forwards seagulling on Savea's wing.

Prop Reggie Goodes took a Conrad Smith pass behind his back and sprinted 25 metres down the touch line for his try before the hooker Motu Matu'u chased down a Beuden Barret chip into the corner.

Unconverted tries to centre Adam Ashley-Cooper and fullback Israel Folau got the Tahs back to within 12 points in the final six minutes.

They almost salvaged two bonus points at the death, but flanker Michael Hooper was dragged into touch just short of the line.

It was an 11th straight overseas loss for NSW, their sixth in New Zealand.
